QC First, Buy Later: Our Screening Methodology for Hipobuy Finds

Quality Control, or QC, is the process of inspecting an item before it ships from the seller to you. In the replica space, QC is not a luxury. It is a requirement. This article pulls back the curtain on our internal QC workflow and teaches you how to perform your own basic QC when buying directly on Hipobuy.

Why QC Matters More Than Price

A $35 hoodie that arrives with crooked stitching and a misaligned logo is not a bargain. It is waste. A $55 hoodie that matches retail specifications is value. Price is only one variable. QC ensures the other variables, quality and accuracy, are aligned.

Our 12-Point QC Checklist

Every item we curate passes through this checklist. Not every item scores perfectly. But items with more than three minor fails do not make it to our site.

How to Request QC on Hipobuy

When buying directly on Hipobuy, you can request QC photos before the seller ships. Most sellers offer 3-5 photos for free. Detailed QC with measurements usually costs $2-5 extra. It is worth it.

Request Template

Message your seller: "Please send QC photos before shipping. I need front, back, logo close-up, and size tag. I will confirm within 24 hours." Most sellers comply because it reduces return disputes.

Reading QC Photos Like a Pro

Sellers are not trying to trick you. But their lighting, angles, and compression can hide flaws. Here is how to read between the pixels.

  • Ask for natural light photos, not studio lighting
  • Request a photo of the item next to a ruler for scale
  • Zoom in on stitching lines: wobbles indicate rushed construction
  • Check logo edges: sharp edges suggest good embroidery, fuzziness suggests cheap print
  • Compare the seller's QC against community QC albums for the same batch

When to RL (Red Light) a QC

RL means rejecting the item and requesting an exchange. You should RL when a flaw is visible, material is wrong, or the item clearly differs from the listing. Do not RL for microscopic deviations that no one will notice on foot or in public.

Our rule of thumb: if the flaw would be noticed by someone standing three feet away, RL it. If you need a magnifying glass to see it, GL it (green light). Perfection is not the goal. Plausible accuracy is.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do QC photos cost?

Basic QC is usually free. Detailed QC with measurements costs $2-5. Some premium sellers include detailed QC as a standard service.

What if the seller refuses to send QC?

Cancel the order. A seller who refuses QC has something to hide. Use our curated picks to avoid these sellers entirely.

Can I QC after the item arrives?

Yes, but it is too late to exchange easily. Post-arrival QC is useful for community reviews and seller rating updates, but pre-shipment QC is where you protect your purchase.
